I'm keeping information from the good people at Miraheze (thank you!) until I learn more about their full wiki awesomeness. I'm / we're going to use this wiki to do the following (for a start): - Post Resources to help anyone suffering from loneliness / isolation - Post Resources focused on creating community for an individual or a group (to move from isolation) - Post Resources / tools to update our Workshop (more soon) - Post "Testi-Lonely-Nials" These are submitted by people telling a story about how they moved from a place of loneliness or isolation to one of connection. This can be an isolated incident (since everyone feels lonely more than once in their lives) or a more impactful event that led to a way of finding connection and community on a more regular basis (eg, for the first type of story you could talk about a person who helped you find connection; for the second kind of story you could describe a community oriented event like a bowling league that regularly connects you to other people). The primary goal of these stories (and some basic editorial guidelines): - The goal of the story is to show readers how you moved from A to B, or loneliness to connection. It's also okay if you want to share a story about your isolation and ask for help / resources. But the overall goal of Togetherland is to figure out together how to get from A to B, so that's the goal of the Testilonelynials. - Please kindly don't use other people's names or information without their consent. Note, this means recognizing that you could say, "My brother from Detroit" without using his name and still essentially call him out with easily identified language versus saying, "a close family member from the mid-West" or what have you. Specificity about how you moved from A to B in terms of loneliness or isolation to connection is KEY. Using other people's info without their consent is something we urge you to not do to avoid confusion or unintended harms. - Please link to any resources or organizations that helped you so we can give them the love and recognition they deserve. Togetherland is not focused on brand leadership or money. We want to literally eradicate isolation globally.
